Spring is time for that pedicure you’ve been putting off as toe-baring shoes are the latest trend.
If you don’t like to show off your toes, don’t despair – Slides and Mules look just as good.
I’m a shorty, so this season I’m steering towards nude shoes and sandals the focus will be on my garments and I may even look taller.
Guess what ? You may remember the see through PVC plastic shoes. Well they are back for that nineties look. If you are going to purchase a pair, take note, they need to be cleaned inside and out after every wear, to keep them looking sharp.
Look what I found tucked away! It’s true, I still have a pair of blue and PVC shoes. I’m set for this Spring.
If you want a bit of a heel with your floaty dress or shorts a canvas and woven wedge shoe will give your outfit a relaxed and stylish look. Just be careful, some styles tie around the ankles which may make you appear shorter.
If you like sparkle, bling or pearls you’re going to have so much fun adding them to either your day or evening outfit. Barefoot Bling is quickly becoming very popular with brides at Beachside Weddings.
Ladies, an interesting pair of shoes is a great conversation starter. If you’re wearing your favourite quirky pair of shoes at a function where you don’t know anyone, making a connection is easy if someone makes a comment. Test it next time you’re out, it works!
Whilst I strolled through fashion stores in Melbourne I found Spring this year is definitely 90’s inspired. There are so many styles to choose from; I’m loving the full maxi and midi skirts…
If you’re short like me don’t drown your body shape with too much fabric no matter what is ‘in’. Go for skirts with an angular hem or slit in front or sides. The floaty wrap skirts with a frill, look gorgeous and suit most body shapes.
If you want try something different, wide legged floral jumpsuits look great and can be dressed up or down. Loose fitting floral shorts will become a staple for some mums.
Florals and stripes are huge this season. You may see some designers teaming both together. Stripe on stripe may seem too much but if it’s teamed up with the right accessories it can look quite smart.
Anything embroidered is the go; sneakers, jackets, jeans or bags. If you’re going to follow this trend don’t overdo it. I’ve dragged out my 90s jeans and I’m going to team them up with a brightly coloured jacket and nude shoes.
Ladies get out your leather pants and skirts – team them up with a t-shirt and sneakers for a casual look or satin top for a date night.
What to wear after five?
Anything that sparkles!
- appliques and
Uneven hemlines, layers, cut-outs, fit and flare all help to make that statement.
Colours for the season
Crisp white, butter cup yellow and different shades of green are some of the colours that will dominate this season.
Ladies shop from your wardrobe first then make a list to fill the gaps. You may only need a pair of shoes or some accessories. Talking about accessories, head scarves, straw bags and cat eye sunglasses are trending. Make the most of these feminine and fun fashions this Spring
