Trending Fashion Autumn/ Winter 2020

Think Late 70'S & 80'S

Big shoulders, tailored garments, boxy oversized jackets, glitter, glam and a pop of neon for Autumn 2020.

Rich brown, turmeric yellow, rust and different shades of green are the dominating colours, while you’ll also see a pop of bright blue to break it up.

You’ll also see the return of the grunge and punk look – remember the Dock Martin boots (I had a cherry red pair), studded jackets, wide belts, tuxedo style jackets and leather pants!

 Matchy, Matchy Suits

Checks and hounds tooth prints worn from head to toe are all the go and matchy, matchy suits are still a huge trend.

Faux fur, leather and denim jackets are always trending for me! We also have the return of the warm but heavy Shearling coats and jackets. Trench coats in classic brown, tan or cream will be a staple this winter in most wardrobes but I’ll be wearing my favourite blue or red trench with my own outfits.

Beaded and sequin garments are your After Five look. If you’re not into bling you may prefer a slinky silk slip dress which is cut on the bias for that beautiful sleek swing.

The latest trend in hair accessories are the 80s Scrunchies in assorted colours and textures, from velvet to linen. If you love fashion jewellery get out your big earrings – and the anklet has made a comeback.

Tops with oversized puffy sleeves teamed up with skinny jeans or fitted skirts are another look for Autumn 2020. Extra wide legged pants teamed up with fitted tops suit those with long legs. Remember when trying these trends always think about the proportion and your body shape.

Oversized jackets with sharp shoulders can be teamed up with high waisted pants. If you feel over powered with too much fabric, cinch in at the waist with a wide belt. Dress up your favourite pair of jeans with a military style jacket.

Leather tunic style dresses with a white shirt or a turtle neck jumper underneath cut a very stylish look.

If you are a shoe lady, over the knee boots, knee high boots, pointy shoes, Mary jane style shoes and ankle boots in different styles and heel heights are all in style this Autumn. There is sooo much to choose from. Timeless animal prints are my favourites.

If you want to keep to one colour palette this season try brown, cream, tan and rich burgundy.

Ladies this is just a brief guide to what is trending. Remember though, shop from your wardrobe first, choose styles that suit your body shape, lifestyle and personality and you will look and feel great.
